General rule in "who goes first"

Tanitha: I think its pretty situational. IE it depends on the situation.
If I'm in my vk4502 and its fairly healthy and i have backup, I have no problems going first and smashing up any ambush I come across. But if Ive got module damage, or I'm on 1/2 HP's then I wont, because chances are I'll be dead before the ambush is smashed up. Similarly if there is a few 152's or IS7's unaccounted for then id be less likely to spearhead into unknown land, knowing that if i find them they can do too much damage too quickly.
Similarly if I'm on a T44. Which can die in a couple of hits to T8+ heavies. I'll use its speed to do some scouting, if its not got module damage, and if its on 75% or above HP's. if its too damaged, then I'll stay back and snipe instead. Similarly when I'm down below 10% and anything can one shot me. I quite often go, oh well, I'll try to go scout/kill their arty on my way out.
So to me, it depends mostly on the HP's and status of the tank I'm driving, more so than its tier or class "medium/heavy"
