When it shows XXXXXXXXXX went up in flames, it means they quit the game.
I believe this is usually from people doing what is called /ragequit
Omg the other team has a IS7 and we dont? /ragequit
Omg this map again? I played this the last 3 games. /ragequit
Campinova? I don't like that map. /ragequit
Omg 5 arty on each side? /ragequit
Omg I'm a T3 and have t8's in the battle? /ragequit
Etc Etc Etc..
It would probably be nicer if the penalties for quitting where higher, to prevent this more, because its not very fair on the other 14 team mates.
As for the people who join 1 minute into the game, Some of these have slower computers that take a while to load up. Some have bugs that take them a while to load up. But often they are just ALT TABBED and reading the forums or something for 30 seconds. And they tab back to the game a bit later than they expected because they lost track of time.
