People use less gold ammo plus the distance is a bit longer. 
With the gun though, I can trust this gun more then a Defender gun and much more than IS-3A gun which is a pile of sh*t. But you need to fully aim, no snapshots whatsoever.   I like this tank, not my favourite tank in the game but I like it. I like it more than Defender and more than IS-3A.
Due to its rear mounted turret it's a different type of play and this can be fun to get away from "usual" tanks and their type of play.

If you have money it won't be wasted, if you don't have it and you need to calculate your purchase... just skip it.
