And what happened to the Churchills rumoured climbing ability? I've not noticed any changes in its mobility.

Overlord: 1. The announcement on the tech tree will made quite soon.
2. Apart from decrease of combat tier (which is a solid buff that raised Churchill's win ratio to more than 48.4%), we were not planning any changes.
