when the Test Server went up first, there was much ado about the American T30 and its 'new' turret armor value. You explained that the previous 279mm were split up into 178mm turret armor and a 101mm mantlet directly in front of that, so that in effect nothing changed.
However, I'm curious if you guys have thought about how the armor penetration indicator of my crosshair will behave in that situation.
Consider the following hypothetical scenario: I am merrily driving along in my Pershing, toting my trusty 90mm T15E2M2 gun. Along comes a freshly reworked enemy T30, and being the high-tier noob that I am, I take aim at its turret front. Now, which of the following three statements will be correct?
1.) The crosshair shows GREEN, because I am aiming my 180 penetration gun at a 101mm mantlet, which I will penetrate all the time
2.) The crosshair shows ORANGE, because the T30's stats list a turret armor of 178mm, which I will penetrate roughly 50% of the time
3.) The crosshair shows RED, because the combined armor of mantlet and turret is still 279mm, which my 180 penetration gun will never ever get through
Obviously, no matter what, I will never penetrate that turret front when I actually fire; but as you can see, there's room for massive ambiguity in what the interface might decide to show me.
Overlord: It should be third. You can check it actually.
We will return the old values anyway.
