So right now saying they'll be fixed! is a bit of a stretch. Lets wait and see what they've changed and test it ourselves before assuming anything, right? I'm sure most people are hoping they will just get some extra armour or something but who knows, the devs really haven't told us how exactly they're buffing the Maus aside re-working the armour.. which is rather vague.
As of right now, anyone claiming the Maus is well armoured is just lying to themselves. Sorry but name me any other tier 10 tank where you can penetrate the front and sides of the turret consistently? I'm not talking about hitting a weakspot, I'm talking about just penetrating the turret armour. Last I checked you sure as hell can't penetrate the IS-7 turret. As Paavopesusieni mentioned, it's also very easy to penetrate the sides of the Maus with most high tier guns. As for the IS-7 weakspots, I've found them very 50-50. The 'point' at the front is not always a guaranteed penetration, it seems to only be a weakspot when the game is feeling like it. Likewise the weakspots on the turret, there are numerous places where the aimer will turn green (as in very likely to penetrate) but in reality you'll bounce 100% of the time. I made a thread about it a while back and a few players agreed- never got a single comment from any dev.

Overlord: Regarding IS-7's hit-box, lower side of the turret armor and upper side of the hull armor are going to be adjusted, which is likely to lead to a minor performance boost.
Since it currently doesn't require one, we will have to find a way to compensate this.
