Would it really be such a horrible decision for you to just replace the premium days with say 150 gold each? That alone would make this event already much more interesting.     TBH, given the passive nature of this I'm not even sure I'd call this an "event". Practically it's just register once, don't bother about it for the duration, then watch at the end what you got. Don't get me wrong, I think this is better than a marathon with daily missions or so. But without direct feedback on progress it won't really trigger any emotions.
