It's very obvious that these are very temporary extreme changes to see what happens when values are stretched like AMX 13 90's view range from 450 to 490m, which means they're modifying the crazy values up and down and seeing what happens.   If it is true that they're trying to see what happens with these values then there is hope yet because they're willing to go to extremes to make the game make more sense.   Let the wild speculation and arm flailing commence!
