from long range.This is a game. It is deliberately balanced so that each and every tank meets something roughly analogous to itself. If the USSR had IS-2's in 1942 and IS-3's in 1944 the war would have been rather different and pretty bloody short.
Stop expecting historic simulation from a game that has been frequently and explicitly said by the devs to be an 'arcade' game.

In any case I look forward towards summer 1941 historical battles of one KV 76 mm vs three Panzer III with short-barreled 50 mm cannon supported by three more Panzer II. In fact... there would be even more KV there.
