Lucky 7 - Questions & Answers

View PostjViks, on 20 November 2014 - 02:33 PM, said: I've got a question / suggestion if I may...   yesterday we played a BO3 match on steppes against an enemy, who wasn't trying to win, but rather just draw us out of the tournament. On any other map, hardcamp in 2 squares is possible to defeat, on steppes however, due to the open nature of the map it is pretty much impossible (when you don't know the enemy setup beforehand as with ESL picking). When we told the enemy team it would be nice if they started playing because this way, no one is going to go forward, they replied they are not even trying to win... So my question is - why are such teams not punished? If someone registers for a tournament without even wanting to win, but just to elimite 'better' teams, why register at all? Why isn't there a part of the rules to prevent such behaviour?   Now my suggestion - this problem could be mitigated by either adopting the new format of maps with 2 bases which encourages active play, or by modifying the rules regarding draws to allow for review of replay by admin to determine, if the 'camping' team was in fact just trying to screw up someone else's day. Were such changes considered?   I know it can be frustrating to come across a team that is statistically better in a match of significance, but in my opinion, it is agains the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship to give up and play only to deny them any chance to go forward... We were beaten by statistically worse teams many times, purely because they refused to give up and beat us square and fair. If WG is trying to promote such ideals, it is a shame that you encourage it in your tournaments...

Karlie:   Hi, yes, we are definitely considering that. Also... I will be working on new "maps feedback" soon so don´t hesitate to share your opinion on the maps (even though its hard to be using only the "best maps" that don´t allow camping or are perfectly balanced for tournament purposes and still not play the same maps all over again). But we are on it sir, “The Force is strong with this one.” :great:
