Kandly: Commanders, We love sharing updates on new locations in World
of Tanks – and today, we’re happy to share a sneak peek on the
Berlin map prototype as it reaches the Supertest server. What
we’d like to do is to create a completely new map, similar to the
real terrain – not historically identical, though, because we had
to abandon the idea in favor of gameplay comfort. Berlin is planned
as a mixed location, featuring an urban area and open spaces, with
historical elements like the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag
building, and the railway station.
When it comes to gameplay, the map will be
appropriate for all vehicles types: Heavy tanks will be
suitable in zone 1. The urban area will cover them from SPG fire
and the opponent TDs’ distant fire. The open area (including
zones 2 and 3) is suitable for Light and Medium tanks, with zone 2
requiring lots of mobility (you will need to be on the move here
all the time, otherwise enemy SPGs will be able to hit you) – and
zone 3 as a great spot for active and passive spotting. As for
Tank Destroyers, we’ve thought of several positions on the flanks
that allow them to effectively keep the opponents’ vehicles in
check when able & when needed. This is the first closed test
of the Berlin map, during which we'll check whether the early map
prototype is playable or not. This means that the location might
change significantly in the future! Stay tuned for all future
announcements and don’t forget to share your feedback
below! Roll Out!
