IPaul72: Hello all
We are posting this to make you aware on Wargaming's stance on the use of Bots.
As you will read below this is a matter that is taken very seriously by WG and we will continue to do our very best to resolve the problem they create.
So to the document from our customer support section and wrote in collaboration with our community contributors:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello World of Tanks Community
We are aware that some players don’t take our rules seriously according to our EULA especially when it comes to bot-software and AFK leeching.
To be clear:
Using bots and/or participating in battles without actively playing is FORBIDDEN!
But before we dig deeper into this topic, let me say a few introductory words.
Wargaming.net as a company also its employees around the world, community contributors and freelancers condemn the use of bot-software in all of our products.
It’s a violation against our EULA and bot users who pays for premium content e.g. Premium tanks, premium accounts, etc if caught will not be treated any different.
In agreement with our personal and business conviction, as well as from the perspective of common sense, each player has a second chance.
That means: If a player is found guilty of AFK leeching or bot using and the player shows regret, a second chance is granted.
However, from this moment the player will be under observation. So on this note, although a second chance is granted it does not mean the player won’t be punished.
The account of every convicted bot-user/AFK lecher will be in the first stage wiped.
The account-wipe includes: All personal statistics will be set to 0, All tanks (with the exception of premium tanks) will be sold, All crews will be removed, the crews of premium tanks set to 50% All cumulated Free-XP and EXP will be set to 0, All existing credits will be removed.
If a convicted player does not agree with the account wipe, his account will remain locked. Also like it has been already mentioned, his account will be under observation.
If the player continues with AFK leeching or using bot-software, will his account be permanently banned from the server. This will be regardless of whether premium content or gold are present on the account or not.
Now if you come into contact with a player who is using bot software:
It is crucial for us that you report every AFK/bot using suspicious player using the World of Tanks in-game report function.
To do this: Right click on the name and under complaint (depending on the client language) choose AFK/bot from the drop down menu. Also ask your team members to do this as well.
This will then highlight the account to our support staff and a game specialist will the account.
Why is this the case?
We want to prevent mass-reporting and abuse of our in-game report function
Please note we DON’T see this as fun and we will take appropriate measures against such clans or players.
We are also aware that there are only 5 in-game reports per day at the moment. Please remember this function is continuously being worked on and improved by our development team
Depending on how our decision will be, either the number of reports per day will be increased or the number of reports will be dynamically adjusted to match the behavior of the players.
How do I recognize a bot?
Each bot has its own little flaws and special features, there are no easy ways to write this down in words. Even if we repeat ourselves at this point, It is crucial that players use the in-game report function.
The system works better if more players use it carefully and for the right reasons. Please share this knowledge in your clan or with your friends!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please keep this topic constructive and also free of screenshots.
We hope this helps you all as a community to see the stance of Wargaming on bots and AFKers.
Kind Regards
Your Community Team
