1 day of premium to help crew training?

Your plan sounds a good one
My advice would be
to stick to lower tiers also until you get used to the game a
little more.
Try not to fall into the trap of "wow that tank is brilliant I must get one of those!" before you know it you have 20 tanks and no time to play them all
I would say buying premium is worth it if you are going to spend long periods of time on the game.
If you need any help with the game take a look here also in guides and tutorials as there is plenty to see and learn.
The community here are fantastic and have a great knowledge of the game also and will help where they can
We the community team are also here to help whenever we can also, so don't be afraid to ask questions
