I would shortly describe it as STFU&GRIND experience.
I'm not surprised a lot of gamers see it their gametype of choice,
as the majority is obviously not out there to be a part of any
community or to do anything else than play solo and silent until
they reach their magical goal (stats, specific tank, crew skills,
full collection etc.) In my opinion however, turning WOT in
to a tanktreegrindcore vs. silent bots without human interaction
can't be sustainable in the long run. What is there left
gameplaywise, when you have almost every tank tree unlocked, if you
take the fun of socializing and playing against a human enemy, with
all the pro's and con's that come with dealing other humans away ?
Had I not stumbled upon the merry bunch of Dingers, I'd be
long gone myself. For me, the people I play with and against are the
only reason I bother to log in or spend the occasional eur on this
game anymore after all these years. Gepard_PH: I will say it again. There is a lot of features in the game
that support human interaction: platoons, friend list, clans, team
battles, built-in voice chat (!), tournaments. And it's not
like we disabled battle chat entirely, you can still talk to your
own team if you want to. Being a social player has very little
to do with the possibility to talk to enemy team during the
battle. If someone is a social kind of gamer, they will use
different ways to make friends and make most out of the social
aspect of MMO gaming. If they are not, toxic battle chat is
unlikely to turn them into ones. More likely they will be
discouraged to chat, interact with others in different ways or
even play the game at all.
