Ectar: I find this comment rather frustrating. We don't have
an issue with any player. Prior to Silentstalker getting his
main account banned from the forums I was always helpful to the guy
regarding his Q&A thread making sure it stayed on topic
etc. He started his blog so he would have the freedom to say
what he wants (and he does) without anyone telling him what to do.
Now sure he's made it clear for whatever reason he doesn't like me
personally, but I was under the impression we're still on speaking
terms as I reached out to him only recently to help clarify any
confusion over what the EU office is or isn't doing (for
example
here). That door is still open and Silentstalker or any other
blogger is contact me at any time to get additional
information. As said at the time there is things I can and cannot
discuss for various internal reasons but if I can chase it up I
will. Not speaking about something doesn't mean I don't know, it's
simply not my place to confirm or deny it. Our developers
have that freedom because they're the people that make those
changes and as you know from reading FTR, our developers can change
their minds quite frequently on certain topics (The FV4202 changes
are a perfect example). When I give information to players, because
I know I will be quoted days/weeks/months later I prefer that
information to be concrete and locked in place. To claim that we
must stick true to something that was never confirmed in the first
place, that's not something even up for debate. It's been
said time and time again that nothing is confirmed until it's on
our portals. If you choose to take the word of a 3rd party
that's entirely your choice but please also remember that any 3rd
party sources generally come with their own disclaimers about
things being subject to change. We don't do things to
"spite" our community. Lets be reasonable here for a few moments,
unhappy players = players who don't spend money and also leads to
players that don't play, any company knows that. Keeping
players happy now by just throwing large bonuses and discounts
at you only serves as quick fix for a single weekend. Next
weekend it starts all over again with everyone expecting the
previous week to be topped. You only need to go back to January
this year to see how everyone was expecting massive discounts and
bonuses to continue after Christmas and I'm sure next month that
will happen too. Yes we want to have weekend specials that
excite or entice players but you also have to remember we also have
a limit to what can and can't be offered. Weekend specials
shouldn't be something like an arms race to always have more and
more than another event. In the past I've been accused of
coming across with a "you should think yourself lucky" attitude
when trying to calm players down. That's never been my
intention and I'm truly sorry if players have taken offence at
that. I'm just trying to get some players to see the bigger picture
instead of always looking it thing based on their own individual
circumstances and expecting weekend events or things like premium
shop offers to be tailor made to them and them only. It's coming up
to the Christmas period where players can be pretty sure there will
be widespread discounts and bonuses. I go through this discussion
with you guys in these topics almost every single month.
Every month I give the same answer and still the topic comes
up again and again. Wait till the month is over then let us
know what we missed. This advice is almost always ignored
because each weekend different individual players always want
different things and then want it now. We say we can't please
everyone and the answers come back as "Well at least give a little
thing everyone can use" or "Huh, nothing for me this weekend
I'm off to do XYZ". In another comment there is someone
saying "At least give us 3x exp." To give a perfect example of the
"different things for different players" - With any 3x exp or
5x exp events you have multiple topics or posts complaining about
"only tomatoes playing this weekend" or similar style complains
about how X player can't win games. Sometimes there is big bonuses,
sometimes it's just something small. You have to understand
however that with a small event it's almost always because there is
a bigger event coming right after it.

It's available for anyone to check, there was also higher
tier discounts less than a month before it.
