Fury on the Battlefields

View PostTacPenguin, on 24 October 2014 - 11:07 AM, said: When the Fury tank was revealed there was a huge buzz about it with a positive vibe towards Wargammimg. Players were exited. Now we sea other server have this tank and Eu does not. There is now a negative wave of feeling swirling around this tank. Well done you have made what a huge success into a fail.  Sales have been lost. Ectars reply was just corporate double speak and really quite pointless.   TacP

Ectar:   I highly doubt sales will be lost apart from a few players cutting their nose off to spite their face.  If you really really want this tank you'll still but it. The fact it wasn't available until 5 days after you assumed it would be available won't affect your desire to want the tank. As I said previously we've always said EU players would be able to buy it. We never started a time in advance and whilst we could have managed expectations better, you're making it out like we said a specific date and then didn't honor it. That situation hasn't happened.

You claim there was not a european launch date for fury. yet you write "the sale date hasn`t changed from when it was planned to be released" Wich clearly suggest YOU KNOW 100% when the tank is suppose to go on sale and you refuse to tell uss when it is. That creates a negative impact on the community here that should be evident enough by all the posts i see here.   2. If i use ur direct quote "The specific date of when it will be available doesn't make any difference other than to give some players peace of mind -Ectar"  THAT is a BIG DEAL for players to plan their gameing and activity and money. The way you put it is negative for the players that the company dont care what we feel our emotions dont matter. that is a sad thing to hear a official say. direct quote again " I agree, it would be nice to know about lots of different things but in the big picture of things it doesn't really make a difference because it's not like you're missing out on anything.- Ectar "  It makes a hell of aloot of diffrence to a normal person who wants to plan purchase and play time. WE want solid clear cut information not some random spout about future if we want that we can go to an oracle and ask them Show me the tarot cards. And aktually we are missing out on CONTENT that could been enjoyed instead it turned into a big sad story that sickens the minds of the players. Direct quote again "What happens on the the NA servers doesn't have any impact on you playing on the EU servers. -Ectar"  This is such a sad thing to see and read. Its like saying war in ukraine dont matter to any other european country  thats just wrong in so many levels. What affects the other servers affects us here quite a big deal you know. reason for that is IMPRESSION. If we constaly see that USA or SEA gets better treatment than us in the EU then obviously we will get disgrunted and feel hatred and sadness and frustration. that in itself creates a evil spiral of bad negativity.   3. Direct quote again " Comparing regions and content within those regions is a pointless thing to do. EU is the only region that publishes articles in 7 languages and they always have to go out at the same time. -Ectar" While i do thank you and ur team for ur hardwork in translateing text but i can translate multiple texts in matter of minutes from diffrent languages. why cannot ur translaters do the same ? Also have you ever thought about maximising the information out flow to perhaps Write in english and then put out the diffrent languages when its ready ? Also Its been clear and proven multiple times that other languages workers in wargameing knows more and post more often than English ones. 1 such case was rules regarding clanwars and clanwars campaigns wich they posted in german and spannish faster than in english and also MORE CORRECT!!   4. Direct quote again "I've seen terms like "we deserve to know" and other demanding statements - Chill out guys.  You know it's coming, it's coming very soon -Ectar" You say soon and soon and soon but how about you say 2014-xx-xx time xx.xxpm am that is clearly more logical and better for EVERYONE!!   Thank you for ur time for answering us ectar but try and write it more positiv and clear cut information that is logical and straightforward we will love you and the community workers better :) Im truly sorry if this offends anyone.

Ectar:   1. I've known 100% when the tank has been scheduled to go on sale for a very long time. As I said with all other premium shop offers we don't tell players this information in advance. 2. I understand where you're coming from here but what happens in another region server really doesn't have any impact on your regional server.  You're playing the same game yes, but you're not seeing people in your matches with something you don't have. Content that could have been enjoyed? - You'll still get to enjoy it. Having the tank in your garage now or 3 days later won't affect the enjoyment you get from the tank in days/weeks/months to come.  War in Ukraine? - Come on sir, we're talking about a computer game here. Lets not talk about politics and bring a subject like that into this. NA and SEA don't necessarily get different treatment. The issue is that some players want everything they can get and want it now.  You never see someone say "Hey I think this is actually too much, I mean look at how we act now and what we demand/what we need to be satisfied". Skip back 1 year and look at what was on offer then. It's amazing how quickly all that is forgotten as people just always demand more returns for as little investment/work as possible. It's always "we want more" or "we want what they have". Even when thing were equal promotions it wasn't enough. It was still answers like "I was expecting tier 8 discounts" or "Where is the equipment discount?" or "Omg, TD's again" etc etc.  3. Why write in English? Our largest single language on the forums is German with Polish right behind them. Combined between the 2 it's more activity than the English speaking section. Our actual highest forum visits and portal visits are from Poland. - See how making choices for EU players isn't as simple as you think it is when looking at it purely from a single player's point of view?

View PostBustergroove, on 24 October 2014 - 12:00 PM, said: Good to see that someone from WG has finally commented here and, whilst I accept Ectar has to tow the company line and the majority of his post could have been written by any corporate mouthpiece (not that I am saying he is that!) all this could have been headed off at the pass by a news article (or similar form of mass comm) stating the release dates right at the start and a series of updates keeping us up to speed with any alterations.   The translation issue was kind of acceptable some time ago but not now. WG is a major player and the company has netted huge amounts of money from this game and arranging for translations isn't that hard - I can give you the details of two excellent translators (English to German and English to Spanish) right now if you want?   Now, either WG weren't sure when the release date in Europe was, something occured which interfered with their plans or they simply couldn't be bothered. In Ectar's post he states quite clearly that the release date hasn't changed from the plan, so why weren't we, the paying customers, told?   It leaves some other options: 1. Incompetence: some licencing issue or similar which came to their notice unexpectedly and should have been identified earlier. This is resolved simply by keeping us informed. Poor Project Management creates its own issues.   2. Ignorance: they simply don't care enough about their EU customers   Neither of those options help create a healthy customer experience.

Ectar:   1. Nope, it's simply normal practice that we don't announce premium offers more than a day in advance 2. That is really not true and tbh kinda hurtful to see as everyone should know how much work we put into keeping you guys informed with the information we have.   We can see now in hindsight that there has perhaps been a bit overhyping which could have been avoided by giving the date in advance. Which is why I'll give the date at the end of this post

View PostNele_SRB, on 24 October 2014 - 12:14 PM, said:   After this post, we realized couple of things: - you cant say the specific date, because there is not one set yet; - you cant have articles prepared on time, because you plan them two, maybe three days ahead; - you cant translate the articles in time to be published, because european WG office doesnt have enough interpreters for all the european languages (just remind me please, the portal is translated in how many languages 30 or 40 ???); - and last but not least the EU office is in no coordination with others (NA, RU, SEA ...), except once a year on birthday!

Ectar:   - I can say the date, however as it's a premium shop offer we generally don't give this information in advance. - We have articles prepped on time however there is always things that come up with little warning and have short deadlines.  Try running a blog for a few months and providing that blog in 5 different languages with a minumum of 3 articles a day, with each article going out at the same time and you'll quickly have a small taste of what it's like. Remember we have 4 games to cover on top of this when you see how hectic things can get. - Again it's always easy to make assumptions when you're on the outside looking in. Any job or role can look easy till you experience it for yourself. I'm not making excuses or saying it's all down to translations issues but players really really underestimate how much work goes into having stuff ready on time. That's not the issue with the Fury tank release date however. It's simply that the date isn't the same as when the movie was released in the UK, it was a date chosen in the middle of the various EU release dates. - That's correct to an extent because each region is there to cater to it's own regional players.  NA promotions are aimed at NA players and mainly focus on American activity during WW2 or American public holidays/historical events.  RU promotions are aimed at RU players and mainly focus on Russian activity during WW2 or Russian public holidays/historical events.  It's the exact same for EU region but what many people fail to understand -(or just flat out refuse to acknowledge) in EU we have multiple different countries with different activities/events during WW2 and majorly different public holidays/historical events.  Wargaming has never stated anywhere that players across all our servers would have access to the same events week in week out as that's just not feasible with such a varied playerbase who want different things.   Now to end all the questions. The Fury tank will be available from the 27th of October in our premium store with different packages starting from 29,99 euro. This price includes a 100% crew and additional gold.   In future we'll make sure that when something is hyped, any dates are communicated to players at the earliest opportunity to avoid issues like this again.
