Now it all looks the same on every new map being introduced, just the graphic changes, some rather narrow alleys/routes for tanks to pass and then some bushes and rock in the back, somewhere on the higher ground, for TD's to hide and try to snipe passing tanks. The idea is always the same, one side of the map corridor for Heavies, the other side for Meds, sometimes third corridor in the middle, and almost always big parts of the map being disabled by either huge mountains or some water. 1000x1000 meter maps are not big enough for Tier X meta anymore, and you deliberately make the maps even smaller with those tricks.

New content is always appreciated as long as it enhances the gameplay experience, but before spending any more time or thought on this game, I'd really prefer to get a glimpse into the roadmap WG has for their World of Tanking a Company project. Also, if WG is not capable to copy/paste a working Recon mode from the current random mode - just with different maps and limited tiers - I have to admit that I'm worried. Is Kislyi still there somewhere? I'd like to see him in a public appearance to at least pretend that WG is still somewhat confident in their own Driving-Down-A-Corridor-Simulator.

less to no cover would be required, if there was only one SPG on each team. Also, instead of cutting off separate lanes/corridors using impassable terrain (buildings, mountains, lakes,...), it would be nice to see an open map (remember, there is max. 1 SPG in this dream) where the general topography/profile of the map alone would provide some cover, yet allow crossing the terrain wherever strategically convenient. 2 out of 3 tank games are doing this rather well.

Dwigt: Yes, the "Japort" map that was introduced on the Supertest
server a while ago.

Dwigt: I will have to disagree with you on the first part of your post.As
I always say rebalancing is an ongoing/never-ending process in game
development. Not talking about our maps or WoT, but this is
how it goes in all games. Closed testing will have much
different results and feedback than the live server, where
thousands of players will be providing data and
feedback. Regarding the similarities in our maps, I
understand you and Ragnaguard's point but given the current
state of the game and the realistic side of our maps, we are bound
to these design patterns, if I can call them patterns. Having
said that, it doesn't mean that we do not consider other changes
and designs. Hopefully we will be able to share more news and maps
with you soon!

Dwigt: We shared some of our plans during the stream of the year and
during some of the Q&A with CMs and developers but you have to
keep in mind that those some of the plans that are shared (or not)
can be postponed, changed or cancelled.Czech Heavies are coming
soon, big changes are being tested, new modes and maybe maps and
tanks are in the pipeline. The MM is a very delicate
thing, especially in a complex game like ours, we wish it was just
a matter of copy paste

Dwigt: As I replied reesku above, the current state of the game require us
to have some of those similarities in maps that you are mentioning.
Like you said, 1 SPG per team in this dream but not in the current
state We do have open maps but I guess
you know what Heavy tank players' opinion. With the current
random matchmaker the same map can play differently in the same
tank depending on the team compositions. Don't you agree? That same
map, Safe Haven, you might go on the open fields in your heavy if
there are no SPGs in the battle.

Dwigt: The map was tested a while a go on the Supertest. Feel free to
check the Japort threads on the supertest section?I can't promise
you 10 maps but I can tell you that we have
more maps planned for this year, rebalancing changes for existing
ones, Recon mode should come back and other types of content. Ofc
if all goes according to plan! 11:55 Added after 1 minute

Dwigt: Not yet my friend! We might have a third common test
soon. Seeing that it's a big update and it's getting lots of
feedback, stuff might change and dates can move.
