For the last few years the quality of WoT was mostly
worsened by ignorance and greed of the mighty Wargaming... Instead
of listening to the players' requests they've been constantly
refining and creating a new subtle ways to make this game pay to
win... and now they're about to overdo themselves.
Let me say this clear: Changes to the tech trees and HE/HESH shells
are plainly wrong. Lower tiers were always fun to play... with
so much diversity, low cost and small amount of effort,
everyone was able to purely enjoy the gameplay. And now, as a
result of money shortages in the WG headquarters, the most
enjoyable part of the game will be just removed...
True WG reason: 'gold/premium acc./real money isn't needed for
playing them => so let's subtly force all players to play
5+ by dismembering the low tier part of the tech trees...'.
2nd thing - HE/HESH: The changes to these shells make no real
sense... Two rhetorical questions for everyone to consider: 1.
Wasn't the way those shells worked a better
option? - I mean, by using certain vehicle we're making a
choice, with all of it's consequences. I believe, that you
should be aware, that in most cases if your tank/SPG/TD/car is too
lightly armored you'll be harder punished by players with good'ol
HE shells or arty. It's the same as when you're
playing superheavies - many players will invest in
APCR to be able to pen you, or HE to make any dmg. But WG
thinks: 'If we make HE useless and APCR dealing less dmg per shot
=> less affortable gameplay for tiers lower than X => more
players buying premium just to be able to play => profit'. 2.
What about Howitzer-lovers? Dwigt:

forcing players into more expensive higher tiers quickly thus
increasing the likelyhood they need a premium account. The tech
tree is not that hard to figure out, you just follow the arrows !
Saying they making it new player friendly is just
a pretence by WG kill off the lower tiers. All
they really need to do was make the tech tree UI cleaner and
highlight the most obvious lines to choose. Part of the fun
for me was trying out all the lower tier tanks and seeing how
different they were. All will be left is a bland wasteland of the
same 4 or 5 tanks cause new players will not even be aware or have
incentive to get "collectors" tanks. WG say they
want feedback but I sense they have already made their mind up they
gonna do this. The have invested too much time and resourse to back
down now.............unless Victor Kisyli wakes up and realises
he's got another Rubicon on his hands!Dwigt: First I wanted to thank you for your constructive input. Both
of you made valid points but I suppose because you have little more
experience in the game and know your way through the different tech
tree at this point of the game. The tanks are still going to
be there so if you want to play low tier you still have that chance
to do so. No one is forcing you to research tanks and reach tier
tiers to enjoy the game. It will be faster, yes, but not the only
way to enjoy the game. The "linearity" of the tree will make it
easier for you to focus on specific type of tanks. I hope I was
able to address your point. Personally I'm kind of skeptic
about the HE changes and pretty sure the current meta will
change but all I/we can do at this stage is go on the sandbox
server test these changes and provide some
constructive feedback. Thanks again for your
post
