Dakiras: There are a lot of motivations and circumstances why people play a lot of games (or a particular one.) I know that if I counted all the time I've spent in my life playing games, it would seem an insane amount... but then you consider that doing so has led me to find work - and spending 5 years working - in the game games industry it doesn't really seem like wasted time for me.   Each to their own, and I don't think anyone should be criticised for spending time doing whatever it is they find enjoyable. I don't really watch much TV or follow any conventional sport (a little bit of cricket, sometimes) so there is a void here for me to fill up with hobbies. I'm sure it's no different for the person/people that you're referring to. People will do what they enjoy. Such is their right to enjoy their lives however they see fit, even if you don't agree with it.   Just my 2 pence.
