Cynd3r: The game tries to maintain a careful balance; it is possible to play (and play well) without paying a cent, but if you want to save time and achieve things easier you're welcome to pay for that luxury.    At the end of the day, individual performance all comes down to skill--not how much you pay. You could technically spend all the gold in the world and still suck.
