are able to compete well in both 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 AND 5v5.
The majority of your player base only plays alone. But sure, for
the people who do play in platoons and clans, other small team
based events would make sense, but not to combine them all.Berbo: You don't have any factual evidence to support the claim
that majority of people play alone. What you said that doesn't make
sense, is yet to be seen (at least for tournaments).
XrN1, on 18 April 2018 - 10:13 PM, said: Of the small player base that does play in these 2-5 teams, how
many of those players would able to be able to form teams for all
those sections of the competition? Berbo: It's their goal to find team mates, like anyone else. If
none of them does, then simply 5v5 scores will not matter much and
competition will be mostly about 1v1-3v3. In the end, whoever wants
to benefit from this, either needs to have a team or to create one.
Who knows, maybe some new friendships emerge
XrN1, on 18 April 2018 - 10:13 PM, said: Imagine you have a good 5v5 team, how are you going to split up
into 2v2 teams? Someone of your 5 man team will be left out. Same
goes for the 3v3, two people will be left out or they have to find
team members from somewhere else. When it comes to 4v4 someone from
your 5v5 will have to be dropped. Berbo: That's the sacrifice we're willing to make, I think teams
will survive, having to play 1 day without their team mate in
7 years of WoT tournaments.
XrN1, on 18 April 2018 - 10:13 PM, said: It would make more sense to do it in a way that players can both
play together and scale up to higher numbers without leaving people
out. For instance make it a 2v2 and 4v4 event. Players can
play together as a group and split up into two 2v2 teams if they
want. No one gets left out. Alternatively do a 5v5 +
2v2 with a separate 5v5 + 3v3 for different rankings and
winnings. Allowing people to split up properly in teams of 3 and 2,
with of course the option of the 2 players opting to find a 3rd to
join the 3v3 competition instead. In these situations
the team as a whole doesn't have to worry about who gets left out,
everyone can play and compete as they can and want. Berbo: TL;DR technical limitations, there can be only 1 cup per
day. Not possible. There is a lot of things you
(players) can't see. What seems logical to you, may have
absolutely no sense from other point of view. What you think is a
brilliant idea, may not be even doable. This is what it is, if it's
a failure as you said it, then we'll rethink the whole idea. The
main purpose is to give variety of content and competition. It's
better to try and fail and new idea than not to try anything at
all. Cheers and thank you for your feedback!
