Berbo: First of all, this tournament had ridiculous rewards, literally you
had to win 1 game to get gold. And this is how it shouldn't be.
You had 3 good teams in your group so you should give up?
Well, if you don't win then maybe you shouldn't get gold in the
first place? I'm sorry guys but if this is a complaint of how you
play against better guys so you can't win gold it's not a legit
point, nor a proper feedback. Sometimes you'll have "bad" teams,
sometimes you'll have "better" teams, it'll balance out long term.
Old format you'd lose 1 game and you're out, you know how
that sucks for new teams? We got TONS of feedback how round robin
is preferred format for casual/new players, and trust me if you see
5 players agreeing on a point on the forum it doesn't meant they
are right. There are thousands of people who don't actively post,
but we need to consider them as well when we are planning events.
Winning 15000 gold or 10000 for 10 or 11 rounds, while people play
9 rounds each day for 600 seems unfair as well. Amount of efforts
put should be balanced with rewards. Group stages are giving less
money to individuals while they're awarding more teams overall. For
example instead of 10% of teams getting gold now is around 50,
sometimes even 60%. Teams who are not good enough can still
aim to get some share of gold, you know all teams don't aim to win
it and are happy with 3rd place even. Maybe with time they will get
there but they will not achieve it by playing 1 game each week.
This way they have at least 9. We'll always have AFK teams and afk
players, it's eternal struggle of every gaming company.
TL;DR the format you recommend proved it wasn't good, as each week
less and less people played it. We'll adapt and think of new ways
to make it more user friendly but I can assure you solo Single
elimination is not a way to go. Whoever likes more pro based games
can always go to silver series or go4, our main audience here are
newcomers and casual players while we try to cater pro's and
players alike, we don't actively strive to create tournaments
dedicated to them. My tl;dr requires tl;dr I
hope this explains Cheers
