MrVic: Pretty much. Most gunners that were considered "tank aces" did not
manually dial their sights in. They usually set its for 800m
usually for tiger aces and put a grease smudge on the lens to
denote where to aim for 400m ect then guessed the range on the fly
and referenced center of scope to their smudge mark and fired. with
practice you can get really good at ranging by eye. Due to work I
can eyeball up to 2500 feet +/- 20 feet easily now days.

MrVic: Just for fun and I was holding my calculator while reading the
speed conversation.
Example Tiger 2 sitting still running maximum RPMs and full power to Hydraulics could rotate its turret in 9 secs.
A target moving 120kph = 75mph = 109.35 feet per sec
So.... If your lets say to its left side and its facing off to the right thats 180 degree turn in 4.5 sec meaning the fast moving tank could travel up to 492 feet in that period of time
and is probably going to drive away from its 8.8cm guns arc
So if the tiger is facing directly forward and sitting at maximum RPMs again (which they would not do very often) and a fast tank appears 45 degrees off to its left and starts to traverse. The fast tank can travel 245 feet in that time
assuming the fast tank is moving at that speed in a perfect terrain environment blah blah blah
Just some fun with numbers...
hehe

MrVic: So before the release of this list I wondered how the US was going
to shape up in the trees
as I have yet to refresh my memory on the experimentals and the post ww2 variants currently
lack much of a comment.
Tho a funny idea I had when trying to envision the US tree was. Higher level you get a M4A1 sherman
just like the one you got at a much lower level but the higher level one you get to respawn X number of times
lmao sadly I think this is the most accurate way to deal with the US armored forces
Bang respawn "you have 6 lives remaining" hehehe

interesting.
while the tank was moving around i noticed that the targeting reticle was also moving around along with the camera.
BUT no matter were the tank and the reticle were going the turrent was fixed on the target. so,is it a LOCK ON ability? so you can move you camera and inspect the field?
i also noticed a red cross or something like that inside the reticle slowly clossing around the target.

Jeremy Taylor: You move the camera with the mouse and the camera is tied to the
turret. The tank is moved by WASD. Thus, changing the camera view
you're rotating the turret automatically. Naturally, the turret
rotation speed is not that fast as the speed of camera moving, so
pointing out an area with the aim with your camera the turret and
targeting reticle reach this aim in a while automatically. Once
captured the aim is outlined in red. And yes, you can move you
camera and inspect the field.
This red cross is focusing on a target making your fire more accurate.

Bcs i live in Belgium with the German border like 100km away.
It would make some difference if it's located in the industrial part or in Berlin

Jeremy Taylor: No, it will not make any difference. All Europeans will have no
problems with server capacity while playing World of Tanks. And
Belgians too, of course
.

Jeremy Taylor: If you live in Europe you'll face no problems. Moreover, we are
planning to launch a separate server in America soon to guarantee
smooth game experience for players from the US, Canada and Latin
America. Still however, we have a player from Canada who takes part
in the Russian closed beta testing, his ping is 140 and he has no
complaints.
