Captain_Judo: We're making significant progress on determining a winner. It's
just taken time considering the number of submissions versus our
team's desire to give each submission thorough attention. With all
that said, I no longer envy Santa's job
We'll have this completed very soon, meanwhile relieving full resources to other, exciting projects.

You said that: "USSR second TD line was OP in the first test iteration". Let's talk about SU-100M-1 and SU-101, please share us your point of view why you removed their top gun? They are now seem the worst. If they are OP because of speed or armor, plz nerf that and leave firepower alone, we dont think their old top guns are OP at all, even then, just nerf gun's stat like accuracy, aiming time or rof, totally remove them is really really bad.
Dragearen, on Sep 19 2012 - 08:55, said: Forgive me if this has already been asked, but are there any plans to implement the research and/or buying of Schuerzen and other skirts? Especially for tanks that historically had them, such as the StuG and PzIV.

Folterknecht, on Sep 19 2012 - 12:43, said: Me and many other players arnt satisfied with the new render for different reasons. My personal main complaints are the lightning and FXAA (no real AA or even SS/SGAA - that would be cool). So my question is will we be able to switch back to the old render (standart on testserver) WITH ALL options like we have them with 0.7.5? The current option on test server with the old render doesnt look that good, especially the textures on objectes that arnt in your immediate environment look terrible (very low res).
Eliminateur, on Sep 19 2012 - 15:30, said: thanks for the response, i'm intriigued about spare tracks as module being functional... looking forward when more info becomes available.
and another question -you can ignore it if needed- for 8.0 mostly:
I've seen that acceleration has changed(decreased) drastically for all tank, and this makes slow/underpowered tanks suffer the most, one particular thing that concerns me a lot is that the T95 can barely move in flat ground on 8.0 test, and can only reach it's top speed on flat good ground(tarmac, paved roads, etc), the moment you turn or traverse rough ground(not counting swamped ground) it barely moves at sub 10kph. And since most of the maps require you to move considerably to reach a useful position moving through horrible ground(dunes, mounds, etc) PLUS the physics means that LTs and MT can and will appear out of everywhere with total impunity, the T95 driver is royally screwed, less acceleration means less turning speed, meaning you will get spotted, tracked and shot/hit by SPGs standing in the open with no chance to fightback or get to a useful position.
And i'm not even touching climbing a hill... i can left full gear forward, leave the computer to grab a sandwich, eat it, come back and the thing won't have reached the top(if i'm still alive).
so, ¿Are you planing on doing something for the T95 mobility due to these issues for the 8.0 release(like +300HP to the engine)?(honestly i don't feel like waiting for 8.1 to even see if it might get buffed, that can be months of destroying my T95 stats...)

Vallter: In September, probably next week
Maus123, on Sep 19 2012 - 01:08, said: Have you ever considered adding the Maus turm to the E-100 as a researchable module?
Vallter: We had such experiment, but decided not to make it. Reasons were
posted some pages ago in this thread.
bat21zing, on Sep 19 2012 - 02:39, said: I'm finding the lack of premium French med/heavy disappointing. I'd like to be able to train my crews while making good credits. Vallter: After 8.0 in one of the next updates. Probably even in 8.1 or 8.2.

Vallter: Because we want to make them different compared with currently
existing branch. So we decided to remove the guns. Currently these
vehicles completely meet the roles we planned for them
Dragearen, on Sep 19 2012 - 08:55, said: Forgive me if this has already been asked, but are there any plans to implement the research and/or buying of Schuerzen and other skirts? Especially for tanks that historically had them, such as the StuG and PzIV.
Vallter: It's planned in future, but since it's a distant perspective, I
cannot give you any ETA.

Vallter: We will think about such possibility, though it won't gain to much
speed still.

Vallter: We are optimising the new render to make it look better without
lossing productivity. Unfortunately, old render is reserved for low
settings mainly.

Vallter: It was fixed with second iteration of public test just changing
physics mechanics. The rest of rebalancing will be done only at 8.1
once we have enough statistics.

lord_farquad: Gold would likely be divided according to how far teams made it, so
those that made it to the semi finals would get the most, those
that made it to the quarter finals would get a significant amount
and those in the sweet 16 would get the rest. I am still analyzing
prize breakdowns, and this is subject to change but a likely
scenario.

Just because they lost 3-1 from the North side of the map in a 4v5, then 3-0 in the rematch, doesn't mean they should be eliminated from the tournament that had various problems!
Even though only 6 teams are left, it should totally be top 16 that get a payout!
Incidentally, with regards to the FORGE vs F.A.-G- matchup...
-G- wasn't told that the match will occur yesterday (and in fact, schedule also said Friday/today from Wednesday because of rematch scheduling and all).
Today, FORGE won't be able to field a team today (and originally, it was meant to be yesterday until the whole rematch thing came up).
So reschedule to Saturday perhaps... except I won't be able to play tanks tomorrow, since I've made plans on the assumption that the battles were friday / sunday.
And I am not going to cancel plans just to continue a tournament.
So while it's possible F.A.-G- will field a team for a battle on Saturday, I'm really quite disappointed with ouw ridiculous this tournament has been.
I don't mind rescheduling, but it's been rescheduling with less than 24 hour warning constantly this week.
On a side note, I burned around 1200 gold initially for the tournament (tank setup and item purchasing for the tourney), and burned another 800 on crew retraining in preparation for fighting FORGE - which is a battle I'm not even going to get to play because of the reschedules.
I don't mind wasting gold in preparation for good fights, but it does bother me when it's wasted for absolutely no reason.

lord_farquad: At this point we have two options, we can cancel and the gold pool
will be divided among the remaining teams or we can try to schedule
a remake. I would like to ask all the team captains to pm me their
preference. You can likely expect a result tomorrow.I will post
further explanation tomorrow once I don't have to type with my
phone (traveling again).

Subject: 2nd round of SEA Account Transfers

grievousNZ, on Sep 19 2012 - 00:30, said: Set up account and started playing to see whats what. Played for a few days so far ,
Ping on US server 220-250ms. Ping on SEA server 160-189, I am in New Zealand.
So ping way better.
Morning play for me on US 8000-15000 people, Morning play for me on SEA 600-800 people. Not the best.
Evening play for me on US 4000-8000 people. Evening play for me on SEA 2000-4000. Not the best
Matchplay sizes on US server in morning 15 people a side every time. Matchplay sizes on SEA server in morning 7-10 a side every time. not the best,
Matchplay sizes on US server in evening 15 people a side 99% of the time. Matchplay sizes on SEA server in evening 7-15 people a side.not the best
Time to get match on US server day and night 1 and a half minutes max 99% of the time. Time to get match on SEA server usually up to 3 minutes and hardly ever a full 15 man a side game. not the best
So I have decided moving my US account is pretty much pointless as there is to much waiting and at least half the matches are less than 15 a side. I am however going to keep the account I created to test SEA and start all over from scratch with the new account in the hope that at sometime in the future the SEA server will get enough players to get a decent match every time.

Tanitha: NZ is +4 on the majority of SEA, So yes if you try to login at 8am
New Zealand timezone then that is 4am for most people which is the
offpeak.
And at the moment the SEA server is above 5k for 5 hours every night, So you shouldn't be getting peak figures of 2-4k
The transfers are approaching 3k players ATM, with almost 2 weeks left on the transfer, these are mostly AUS/NZ players.
So the peak server figures will go up a lot shortly.

Mugsy_: I think it might help (or make things worse) if I shared my
personal opinion about the things I like about each of the final
pieces.
Animated:
Big Soke - that animated particle effect is great, using the tank to frame the space the text World of Tanks will occupy when the animation resets was a great design solution
Redivan - the color contrast, the movement, the WG icon rotating around vote are all great looking
Tea – love the tv, love the glass shatter transition to the footage, like the contrast between the blue and brown/tan
Jellyknife – love the banners dropping and rising, love the detail of the tank hitting the rock, very creative
Master Tactics – extremely polished result, the font and white industrial clip art were a perfect fit, perfect pacing that slows at the end to reveal the joystick awards logo. Granted, he used the existing video resources, but he used them masterfully. Pun intended.
Static:
KnightTiger – great composition, lots of information delivered very effectively, looks great
Sypherium – I like that shiny, candy like vote button, like the WoT emblem behind the logo, liked the Roll Out… font which is something submission struggled with
VicariousVision – it is similar to Sypherium’s but they both discovered a composition that works well. Vicarious’ take was able to offer larger text which I also think is great
Dragore – I like the subtle customizable feature, I love the way the eye sweeps from top left to bottom right, I really like the hews in the image (feels like an autumn battle)
Cardonaa – movement. This piece has tons of motion, I love the focused placement of the info, and I think the Roll Out… font was a cool, not-obvious choice
As I said, art is subjective and personal. Most things creative are. So I wouldn’t want to say something is good or bad – and some of you are taking this pretty hard, I just wanted to articulate the positive and unique things I see in the finalists.
I am off to make sure those Clans behave themselves. Enjoy the contest. I am excited to see what you guys offer up next time. Maybe we can have you guys design my sig. Enjoy the boards, enjoy the game.

We had many many great submissions, as you know. It was really difficult to narrow it down but we selected the ones we thought were strongest. Please don't be discouraged, we have lots of creative contests and we look forward to seeing more from all of you.
