Major_Rampage: Well my self imposed deadline of trying to get the tier 10 British TD by the end of Keep Calm and Carry On,  will pass in a few hours and I almost made it to tier 8.  I am about 20k shy,  I am sitting on about 140k free exp,  but I am trying not use that except on upgrades to the modules.  I think I can finish on the line in another two weeks if I buckle down.  I will say how ever the high armor,  and rapid reloading gun of the line so far has fit my play style very well,  and has helped my stats.  I had not had things like life get in the way I think I could have completed the line.
http://wotlabs.net/s...signature.png
So far a few shinning points of the line have be the AT 2,  which 50 battles in I have 70% win rate,  1.36 kills per battle,  and average exp of 549 per battle.  I thought this was going to be my tank I would fall back to on this line.
But then I got to the AT 8,  my win rate suffered a bit at 78 battles I am sitting at nearly 63% win rate.  1.28 kills per battle,  and an average exp of 659 per battle.
Now I have moved up to the AT 7 at 73 battles I am just over 63% win rate,  with an almost 40% survival rate,  1.51 kills per battle,   my average exp is up to 787 per battle.
I am not wracking up massive kill counts in these tanks but I have been doing an ton of damage,  and with clutch breaking trained on my crews,  and some defensive driving I have been able to get up close and personal with medium and even light tanks with out being made mince meat out of most of the time.
Over all this has been on my favorite branches of TDs to play up.
Has anyone made it further up the British TD line (with out free exping their way up)?  What have you thought of the line?

View PostDogzman, on Apr 03 2013 - 04:22, said: So Captain, since its no longer March maybe you could give us a little information about when this format might come back? Maybe a little hint about when to look for it coming back? I really enjoyed this format, as did my team.
A little backstory about my team, I along with most of my teammates, couldnt, and still cant participate in most of the tournaments WGNA is nice enough to host for us players. I work second shift, sunday through friday, as do many of the players on my team. Unfortunaly that means we cant join pretty much any of the tournaments. Then came along a nice little tournament format that we could all get together and have fun and feel like a team working towards something. Week after week we got better, generally being in the top 3 of whatever division we were in.
So we finally are doing well as a team, and really enjoying the format. Then the championship series gets announced and I start to read the rules for the tournament format we have been gearing up for. I find, unfortunatly, its a friday-through-sunday affair, which meant my team didnt even bother discussing if we wanted to sign up for it. I probabaly should have seen this coming, but since the practices were a one off (you didnt have to sign up for sunday or friday to play saturday) it didnt click for me until i read it.
My teams playing of WOT (including my own) has dropped off significantly since scrimmages have ended. We used to be working towards tanks we thought would help the diversity of our line up. I  would see most of my team on WOT every night, grinding tanks and spending gold. Now, since our motivation has dropped off I am lucky to see one, maybe two of my team mates on in a night of playing tanks. I am waiting to give my team some sort of information on when the format will return to remotivate them.
In addition to the single day, one off scrimmages, it would be nice to see a weekly tournament format, that was only one day a week. For instance a skirmish like tournament that happens 4 saturdays( or sundays, or fridays) in a row, instead of all in the same week. All it takes is one weeknight on the schedule and my team cant participate, it would be nice if WGNA would diversify their days they offer tournaments instead of every time i look up the new tournament thats been posted i again see it requires friday night off to play, or every weeknight. I'm not suggesting replacing any of the current formats to fit my team in, i would just like to see more options, so that more people get to participate in organized, competitive play.

Captain_Judo: Dogzman, this is some genuine feedback and I appreciate you taking the time to post. Your arguments really strike a chord with me. There's a few things currently in our way from providing scrimmages or daily tournaments. But I'm going to use your post as indication of a growing need for such formats.
I can't guarantee that it'll happen immediately. But I'm working toward getting such a project to finally take off. All I can say, for now, is: hang in there

I have been given access to stream this tournament, but I need the team Captains permission to do so, so that LF can add me to your team with an observer account.
I would like to follow 'a' team trough their group bracket. I know people will be worried about others seeing their "Strats", but it's for the good of e-sports if we get more people involved and watching. This will be my first time casting an event like this.
When the group stages are over, I'd like to cast the 1/4s, semis, finals.
Thanks,
Barr

Captain_Judo: We encourage all teams to enroll a caster's (such as Barroom's) services!
One important note to all teams:
Casters use our observer accounts which act as an invisible, tier 1 tank. This means that when a caster is observing your battle, our system increases your available tier points by one. However, the tournament tier rules remain the same!

Otherwise this looks like a fun tourney

CatStalker: Tankers!
Thanks to everyone who made it out to our GDC Player Gathering at the Churchill. We had somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 dedicated tankers who came out to join for drinks, games, and a quiz contest hosted by The Chieftain. We look forward to our next Player Gathering, so stay tuned to the World of Tanks news portal for upcoming dates.
Check out the article here for some photos from the event!

DEZLOK, on Apr 02 2013 - 22:31, said: sorry but i'm not buying the spin here. its cheaper to buy the IS6 for example with gold then to purchase through the gift shop same goes for the black prince. you just keep fluffing the package with gold consumables that no one wants. its like putting a fancy hood ornament on a piece of crap car.

Major_Rampage: It depends on how you break down the packages.  If you break them down "honestly",  and by that I mean you assume that premium time,  and gold listed in the package are purchased at that rate,  then you will see they are a deal.
If you want to skew the numbers by assuming the value of premium time based off the year purchase of premium time,  and gold off the largest gold package then you are going to come up with a different number.  And if anything what you are showing is the value in the large gold package,  and the buying a year of premium,  not that there is no value or discount in the gift shop packages.
