View PostLordBenjamin, on Aug 01 2013 - 02:38, said: I'm just relieved it was 3.1.   I asked if she had any backup disks or anything and she pulled out a 4 inch thick DOS 5.0 user manual and some 5.25" floppy disks.

CatStalker: Heh, I had to work on a 386 running dos a while back. not good times.
First step I would suggest would be to just try to access the data and save it. If you can image clone the whole hard drive, at least you have some safety net to work with.
Once you have a backup and start to play around with the files, maybe try something like dosbox to see if you can run the old software and read the data?
When you identify what the original software was, then it should be pretty easy to figure out (through online research or just trying to read the files as text documents) if the data can be converted to a modern format or not.
best of luck

Laera: Alright, this thread has deteriorated far enough. Time for it to go to sleep.
We're totally open to feedback but in the future, if instead of writing IN CAPS about why YOU'RE MAD, why not suggest a solution? I'd be more than happy to chat if you're willing to be constructive.

CatStalker: sounds like you may have picked up something undesirable during your internet travels.
I'd recommend running a full system scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then make sure you have an updated anti-virus program running (Microsoft Security Essentials is free and is what I use at home).

That's the part I don't get, I have never seen an SLI option before, does it just detect and "wake up"?

CatStalker: Yep, the nvidia control panel hides the option unless it detects two cards that are able to be SLI'd together.

1. Do we need to write anything on the reverse, non artwork side of the card? (i.e. best wishes, congrats! Etc...)
2. If we are one of the big winners, are we able to request what tank we'd prefer (out of the KV - 5, Type 62 and Type 59)?

Laera: 1. You just need to make sure your username is on it so we know who to credit if you win.  Leave the rest up to your creativity!
2. Feel free to write a note with what tank you'd prefer but we can't make any promises.

I was gonna give it anther day or so and then open a ticket. I figured with the update and all these specials and server issues, etc, that maybe it would take a little longer to get through the winners.
But, since GIM posted his inquiry, I decided to do the same.

Yoott: No worries about posting. Its good to get the feedback if there is an issue. Its just actually faster if you email it in as we may miss these posts for a bit in normal day to day travels.
Also a note to all players any Tournaments that are run over the weekends including Fridays wont be processed as fast because A> we walk into a wall of results on Mondays to process  and B> the people who process the payments are also backed up from weekend requests. We will get them all out but they may be a bit slower then mid week stuff.
(plus secretly we are trying to see if we can break the processors with all these daily tournaments... you guys are helping that by joining the tournaments  )
