My New Computer!

View PostThePigSheFlies, on Nov 25 2015 - 13:11, said:   lucky you.  mine was ordered in July.  It's been warrantied 3x since, and in total they have had it longer than I have in those 3½ months.   twice the SSD puked - first one lasted 3 weeks, the 2nd lasted two weeks.  after the second warrantied SSD, it was returned looking like it had been driven over by a forklift.  case dented in 3 separate areas. rear mount pedestal/foot broken off and dangling.a technician's socket floating around inside the case.   I powered it up, and noticed immediately that the voltage/temps were spiking erratically as high as 90ºC.  opened the case back up, and the giant CPU Cooler I had specified was visibly loose/wobbly - when I attempted to tighten it down, it seemed that they had locktighted the threads loose...  I sent video and pictures, and their CSR rep was sympathetic enough, and shocked enough that it passed QA, let alone supposedly had been "stress tested" in that state - but there was little he could do but offer to cover the shipping back.   I've had it back for less than a week now, and so far it's stable/running nice and cool.  so far.  I fly out Monday 11/30 for work for two weeks, and obviously hope I don't get a call from my wife and kids while I'm gone that it blew up again...   I had a total of 4 machines that needed to be specc'ed/replaced at home.  I've already pulled the plug on an Asus laptop instead of speccing out a slightly more robust machine from cyberpower, and I honestly can't see a reason why I'd ever order something from them again.   just a couple of the pictures I took from round #2...

GhostPrime:     Oh man, that's terrible! I know a lot of other people who have had a good experience with Cyberpower like myself. Dealing with what you had is not worth it at all.    In the end, building your own PC is the way to go. These days it's a lot easier than it was in the past.
