THIS IS A GAME and you should aim at making things suit players even if its not 100% like in real life, you do it with most of things so why not camos ?
Overlord how about calling patterns bought for gold "license" ? So you buy with gold license for certain camo which you can use in other vehicles of same nation and tier, then its pretty realistic that you bought license to paint your tanks with that certain pattern. You do realise they are low quality, give you absolute no benefit in game and cost almost 500g for tier 9 tank ?

Overlord: There is obvious logic for not letting camo patterns to stack. Don't see the point into grabbing everything into the same pile and calling it realism.
As for camos, they are not of low quality. The technical requirement (server and traffic parameters) for resolution plus the fact that camos are faction-based, ie should fit all tanks, determine their general characteristics.
And there is no way we can provide the same level of detail players do creating high res camos for specific vehicles.
And the bottom line, you can play without camos at all.
