Super Test Leak 16/03 - Top Tier Italian Tanks

Kandly: Buona sera, tankers! Here’s yet another serving of delicious intel on the top-tier (VIII–X) Italian vehicles. We’re all eager for their arrival, because these mobile medium tanks don’t only look awesome, but also feature a brand new mechanic: autoreloading. Although it’s the second time they make an appearance, this time around they enter testing with close to final models! The vehicles participating in this round of Super Test are the P.44 Pantera, the Prototipo Standard B, and the Progetto M40 mod. 65. • The line’s Tier VIII vehicle represents an overhauled version of the renowned Panther, with an autoreloader holding 3 rounds. It’s an agile vehicle, with excellent power and DPM.• Tier IX is taken by the Prototipo Standard B, with a 105mm gun equipped with a 3-round autoreloader. This tank stands out due of its excellent mobility and firepower parameters, optimized for productive close to medium range play. The gun’s accuracy makes the Prototipo Standard B less efficient at higher range, but its 268mm penetration (with standard ammo) seems to compensate for it. Some nice high-explosive shells with a penetration of 105mm are also available for this tank, allowing it to prey on lightly armored enemies.• And now for the top tier… the Progetto M40 mod. 65! Its gun is still 105mm, but the autoreloader can now fit 4 shells. This tank looks exactly how a top ride of Italian design should look like, but in addition to that, it is also features better protection than its predecessors: the 50/40/25mm of hull armor and glacis plate’s slope of 73 degrees will work miracles (all 150mm or smaller caliber rounds will ricochet from the glacis plate) – along with the turret’s nominal frontal armor of 120mm. Together with the availability of HE shells with 105mm penetration, this makes the Progetto M40 mod. 65 a very promising vehicle. Depending on the Super Test results, the final parameters of all the tanks mentioned above are subject to change. Be sure to follow the news!
