Newb to WoT

Beesnest, on Nov 07 2015 - 13:34, said: I'm new to World of Tanks.  Allow me to introduce myself.  Some of you may know me from game-play as the frustrating noob, "Beesnest".  I'm an old-timer, well, by most standards, in my late 50s.  I'm not trying to fool myself, or anyone else, but I don't expect myself to amount to much in the game, though I assure you, I do play to win.  I've been asked to join platoons on several occasions, but either didn't understand the mechanics behind it, or on a couple of occasions, inadvertently closed the platoon window on those who made the requests.  I wasn't trying to be rude, it was an accident.  So yeah, that's how "newb" I am!  I can't type worth a crap (never could), so chat is beyond my abilities and my reaction time/reflexes aren't what they used to be.  However, there's always hope, and I sure do hope.  If I can master "Silent Hunters" Wolves of the Pacific", maybe I can actually become a valuable asset to my team.  I have barely 500+ games under my belt, I still come across maps I've never played before (sometimes get lost :/ ) but I am learning that, as opposed to History, high velocity, German, armor piercing, shells do not cut through an M4 Sherman like a hot knife through butter, as they did in reality.  So please be patient and bear with me as I struggle through the learning process. I'm very impressed with the caliber of proficiency displayed by other game players.  Their coordination and tactics are second to none.  Anyway, I hate talking about myself (it bores me), so I don't know how often I'll post here, though I have been reading the "How To" posts and videos.  I just find it hard to stop playing sometimes, no matter how many times I get killed in the first few seconds of the game (chuckle).  Glad to have found WoT and be a member of this fine forum.
