Mystery Mayhem: Day 3

pizzastorm: The story so far... You wake up on a hard, cold floor. Brushing the dust and cobwebs from your clothes, your eyes slowly adjust to the darkness, revealing a dingy unfurnished room. Surveying the ancient, torn wallpaper, the lack of windows, stacks of partially collapsed boxes, and foul, musty odor, you determine you are somewhere in the midst of old house; perhaps the attic.   You shuffle forward, delicately making your way through the darkness towards the door. Grasping the door, you quietly turn the knob only to hear the click of a stuck lock. Behind you something growls deeply.   Heart beating heavily, you run out and slam the door shut behind you. Once you catch your breath, you realize you’re not alone in the hallway. Several pairs of eyes stare at you, but at least these are human. Suddenly a loud crashing comes from the end of the hallway. The other people jump into defensive positions and prepare to fight. It’s going to take all of you to overtake this monster.   Success!   The group defeats the monster and cautiously makes their way into the next room. You peer around the corner and down a long staircase. Sliding your way to the stairs, you’re thankful the dust muffles your footsteps. That is until you kick a small, hard object and it tumbles its way down the stairs. Thud. Thud. Thud. Surprisingly, the noise stops on something soft. Relieved, you let out a deep breath a little too loudly. Suddenly dozens of eyes stare up at you and a chittering screech fills your ears.   Your Task:  This battle is going to take everything you’ve got.
