It seems that since - just speculating on this..that if things go wrong during the event - the back up plans are hard to implement to customers satisfaction since it is the weekend and everyone went to a lot of effort to re-arrange schedules, since we can not swap out team members.
It is a high profile event with prizes, and the tournaments are evolving for the better I hope.
It takes many hours to coordinate and train a team to work together, commit time to participate. I wish the compensation was more.
lord_farquad: weekend specials are not related to tournaments. But yes one of our
events suffered extreme lag on the initial battles due to server
strain. This was primarily due to the fact that we had never run an
event so large, and were unaware that it would be an
issue. Otherwise.... your assessment is very accurate.
There are a lot of moving pieces, and we try to find the best
solution for the majority. Unfortunately with a situation like
this, involving this many people, no matter the solution, someone
will be at an inconvenience.
