Tournament Changes in July

In my opinion, those are the worst kinds of tournaments because typically the criteria changes from day to day (i.e. up through the Tiers each day), or there are so many teams that you either get put in a decent bracket or you get put in with a pile of dedicated tournament purple teams (i.e. team distribution is so unbalanced), or they're the random-assigned tournaments, which I will NEVER play again. And the clan-based events seem heavily weighted in favour of the top clans, or simply, clans, which I am currently not a part of, nor sure if I ever will be again.   Nope, if WG is doing away with the weekly tournaments (on top of the meaningless destruction of Clan Wars), I guess my time here is almost done. I may not play tournaments a lot, but I look forward to them, and when I have time I step in for a few rounds.   x.

dance210: Which is fair enough and partly why I wanted to put up a forum post, to gather feedback. Doing something different for a month doesn't mean weekly tournaments won't be coming back. And the Summer Play tournament isn't as gimmicky as some that we run - it's very similar to the Skirmish format (group stage into single-elim playoff) with pretty standard team size and tiers.

Edit: Also why are you bothering with 1v1 tourneys? 1v1s in WoT don't require skill just RNG, WoT is a team game.

dance210: Yes, this is a team game that sometimes people enjoy playing solo. The 1v1 tournaments prove popular, partly because they pay out deep and partly because you can play solo, without needing to find a team. Everyone has different ideas of what they consider fun.

dance210: Care to explain that? The 1v1 and Platournament are both focused on more casual players, while the Summer Play tournament is geared towards the more competitive crowd.
