dance210:   Simple answer: the tournament tools only allow us to control max tier. We have the dispute system in place for any teams that break the posted tournament rules.

YES and YES   2nd
This is NOT what the written tournament regulations state.  They actually state “Opposing team captains will be alerted of the pending dispute once a dispute is filed.”  Captains is plural and indicates that the captains from the opposing teams will BOTH be informed that that a dispute is being processed.  One is being informed and the other is being acknowledged.

Again this is NOT what the written rules/regulations state.
“A resolution will be communicated with both involved team captains at least two hours prior to the start of the following round.”
Again you will notice that it states that a resolution will be communicated to BOTH involved captains.

Though often used in the description of a legal proceeding, due process actually has a much broader scope of application.   In it formal definition per such sources as Webster's dictionary it is described as
“a course of formal proceedings carried out regularly and in accordance with established rules and principles”.   Since there are established written rules supposedly governing this tournament it is completely reasonable to expect them to be followed.   Oh well,  I am not particularly surprised that this is how this situation was “handled” considering how many other things are done at WG but I am disappointed.   Moving on to the next adventure in tournament play.

dance210:   yor273c, I will be sending you a PM to discuss this in a few minutes.   Also, please note that it appears you are quoting from the old Skirmish rules. The new Skirmish rules are posted here. While most items are the same, there are some slight differences - e.g. removal of contacting captains 2 hr before the battle begins, and where unsportsmanlike contact falls and what the punishment for it is.
