RedPrince42, on Mar 17 2014 - 16:32, said: You guys make planning for these things impossible. How long have
you known there wasn't going to be a Spring Season? Why didn't you
mention it earlier? Did we really need to cancel the Spring Season
just because 2 Gold League teams were going to be in another
country competing for the world title? (Nothing against SIMP or
FNATIC there). . Here I was, thinking I was doing a decent job
promoting the leagues, a solid format that we all knew was a
4-season per year "Pro" event. Whoops! Guess I was wrong. . If the
powers-that-be of any major "Pro" sport treated their players and
teams the way you treat us, with short-notice changes and
constantly changing promotion and relegation levels, those
powers-that-be would be out of a job! . It's the only game in town,
so we'll probably join up again when Summer comes around, but I'll
have to take a vote of the team to see if they want to put up with
this crapfor the pre-season.dance210: I'm sorry that you feel as though this isn't fair. All of
the leagues, Open, Bronze, Silver and Gold are part of a whole -
the Wargaming League North America. Yes, last season there were
four seasons; that was also before the Gold league was up and
running. We have decided to delay the start of the next season for
ALL the leagues until the Summer for various reasons, including the
Wargaming League Grand Finals, which is a global event. This delay
is not just for North America; all the regions have a break due to
the Grand Finals. They will start up on their schedule after the
Finals are finished, same as North America. The WGLNA
leagues have only finished their first year and still have some
growing to do, to reach a final, stable level. Taking comments and
suggestions from players, we have been slowly trying to adjust and
adapt, to make the league stronger. Of course, it is not possible
to make every player suggestion a reality, but that does not mean
we do not discuss it. Promotion and relegation levels are being
adjusted based on player-feedback. We are all committed to making
the leagues strong and sustainable. Once an optimal balance has
been found, this will be used. Once we had tentative
dates as to when the leagues would start again, they were posted.
Because we saw that it would be a long break between seasons, and
we didn't want to leave our league teams with nothing to do for
several weeks, we added a preseason tournament for any team that
would like to participate. It is not mandatory; it was designed to
keep some competitive play for those who wish to do so. While a
preseason may not be wide-spread in eSports it is not unheard of in
Sports. Again, this is an optional tournament designed
specifically for our league teams during this break. As soon as we
have concrete dates and information, or in this case tentative
dates, we will pass it along to y'all.
