I have already pretty much put your advice into action, [BE] hasn't played in a 5v5 tier V tournament since they were posted. I did try to get a team started one day but the lack of enthusiasm from my clan mates lead to us not having enough people to form a team.
I can't speak for this new 5v5 tier V format, maybe its better with 5 people out there, but back when blitzes first started and the 3v3 was tier 5. we at [BE] played in a lot of the blitzes then, but we got really bored with the tier V 3v3. The problem was chaffees, we all had chaffees, the enemy teams were all chaffees, and the few teams that didnt bring chaffees were very easy to defeat. Problem is chaffee is the last "pure" tier V scout, its view range, HP, and DPM outclass other regular tier V tanks, even other tier V scouts because they are scouts balanced around the idea that tier VIII scout is the highest, not tier V.
I just think the tier V regular MM is a really fun tier to play at, good balance of snipers, derpers, HP and armor. Throwing an old school end tier scout into the mix ruins the fun for me. Either I felt bad clubbing on seals who didn't have chaffees, or it was 3v3 all chaffees which made the battles feel very vanilla and quickly led to boredom amongst my team.
