Tournament strategies/best tanks etc

churchill50: Generally, the tanks you'll want to bring need to have a good
combination of HP and DPM, with either armor or mobility.Tanks I
would suggest would be:Tier 5: Pz V/IV if you can. KV-1 with the
57mm gun if you can't.Tier 6: T-34-85M, VK30.01P, HT No VI/Tiger
131.Tier 7: Tiger I. T29 with the 90mm used to be a decent option,
but it's not anywhere near as viable after the Tiger I buffs,
except on a few maps.Tier 8: Caernarvon is easily the best option.
53TP, E75 TS, Obj 274a, and Progetto 46 are also decent
choices. For equipment, I would run Improved Hardening,
Rammer, and Vents. This boosts both your DPM and HP. On some
maps, you'll want to drop Vents for Optics (Malinovka, Prokhorovka,
Redshire for instance). A few guidelines as far as
strategy/playstyle:You do have to play the cap, or at least close
enough to reset it if the other team tries to cap.If you can safely
do so, try to get some early shots. If you risk taking too much
damage while doing so though, then don't do so.Depending on what
your enemy takes, you can just push them and force a DPM fight. For
instance, if you're in a Tiger I and your opponent takes any other
tier 7, you can just push into them because your combination of
high HP + high DPM will allow you to win. To add to the last
point, always be aware of the pros/cons of your opponents tank. For
instance, if you're in a Tiger I and your opponent is in a T29, you
can absolutely push them and force a DPM fight. BUT, you have to be
careful not to facehug them, as the Tiger I doesn't have enough gun
depression to shoot the T29's hull when facehugging.If it's a 2v2
or larger tournament, don't get separated. If your opponent can
catch you out one by one, you'll lose. Stick together, focus fire,
and share HP and you'll do well. You can look up your opponent
before the battle (on the tournament page) to see what tanks they
have and what their skill level is. You can use this to make sure
you can counter their most likely tank picks. If it looks like
you're losing, try for a draw. A win gets you 3 points, a draw gets
you 1 point, and a loss gets you 0 points. So it's always best to
draw instead of lose. That 1 point can make a difference in the end
standings. That's about all I can think of right now. If I
think of more later, I'll come back and add to this post. I
hope that helps!
