The_Chieftain: It is worth observing, perhaps, that the EU council allocates its
votes disproportionately by country as well. It’s not as if Malta
or Luxembourg can stop Germany, but they have enough of a weighted
vote disproportionate to the larger population states that if they
all vote together, they can stop Germany, even though they still
have less population combined. The argument of a Wyoming voter
having more “power” than a California one applies in the EU as
well, but not many people mention it. Similarly, the risk of s
“minority vote” winning is inherent in any constituent
representative body. It’s not as if such things never happened in
the UK, for example. Ask Winston Churchill...
