KV-1 / KV-2 applique armor?

The_Chieftain: It's commonly known as a KV-1E, although given the T-28 precedent, perhaps KV-1Eh is more accurate. Eh stands for "Ehkranirovanniy", which basically means "Appliqué." They are 35mm armor plates which started being added later 1940, and added a couple tons to the already somewhat overloaded transmission.
