The_Chieftain: It's kind of like me and whiskey or wine. There's a certain price
point in the mid range beyond which I am not refined or
sophisticated enough to be able to tell the difference. I was at a
Japanese whiskey lounge in SF a while back, the 180 dollar bottle
did't appeal particularly more than my "standard" Bushmill's. The
5,000 dollar bottle, I have no idea what supposed value you get
from it. Suffice to say, I did not ask for a sample.
I recall seeing one of those multi hundred dollar steaks in Vegas, in Mandalay Bay. 6oz. For that price, it had better have been some Tibetan village's sacred cow, hand fed the finest feed, killed at the full moon of the Winter Solstice, flown to the US on a private charter, and then served by a virgin maiden. At least.
Yay economy class. Eleven hours to go. (Still on the ramp)
