The_Chieftain:   I don't know about that.   Russia is a military present with the support of and as an ally of the recognised government of the territory in question. They have the ability to place as much ADA/Anti-Air stuff as they want, and the authority to use it. Unless there's something going on I've missed, the US does not have the authority to strike any of the however-many AA assets the Russians put into place. They may return fire, but I can't imagine the Russians would put second-string persons and equipment there, at which point 'you may return fire' may become an ineffective position.
