The_Chieftain:   That was done years ago. At least five. Actually, now I look, the page is still up, and it shows its age. http://montego.rough...om/gun_cam.html   As to the Japanese tanks, or any tanks at all, here are some considerations.   1) Cost of flying me to the tank. 2) Cost of flying camera crew in.   In order to get value for those, it has to be a place with multiple tanks. Going to do one or two doesn't really cut it. I'm thinking here particularly of the Ropkey Chi Ha. The only time I've done a onesie has been when my trip was already paid for for some other event. Now, there are compromises: Filming in MVTF cost all but nothing, but we bring in an external filming crew for a few days from LA. On the other hand, the cost of getting me to Kubinka was rather offset by Minsk sending an in house team who just drove up. (Plus I was inn Minsk anyway)   3) Cost of access. This varies. One excellent collection in the US is off limits because they're charging a heck of a lot of money for access to the vehicles.   4) Ease of access. Dealing with the Army's bureaucracy is sufficiently annoying that I am in no hurry to do it. Especially given that T28's tracks are off, still. Then see points 1 and 2. Everyone has to fly in.   That's all only some of the considerations, there's more.   So, for now, Benning, Bovvie and Kubimka aren't on my likely list until at least next year.
