The_Chieftain: They do get points for originality. And, in all fairness,
when I stayed in the officer's mess for a while, it really did
strike me as being a building in need of an update, which it should
now get. The only nice part of it was the dining room and ante-room
one adjourned to after the meal. When you go into the lift,
the first 'frequently used number' is the 'stable.' And the dress
code in the mess completely nailed me, they should have warned me
when I was packing my gear for my stay.
