The_Chieftain: Yes, I am quite familiar with the Irish trad group. They've been around a while.   i'm not familiar with T30E2   walter, without detracting from the thrust of your recent op Ed, I do make two observations. One is that I do not believe that tracks are a requirement for a tank. I define a tank by its ability to do a role, not its physical characteristics. Secondly, there is a video going around recently of a new John Deere in a tug of war with an 18hp steam tractor. The latter won. Don't forget, hp is just for speed, not hauling power. That's why steam locomotives were usually rated at drawbar pull.
