Similarly, if you want gun boats, the RU DDs offer a better experience from the beginning. Being a Jack of all trades isnt something suited to a class with relatively low survivability.   Like unless you want the Benson for ranked battles, and didnt buy the Lo Yang, or you really like a particularl USN DD, I cant see any reason to play the USN line over either of the other two.

The_Chieftain:   That's if you want to do nothing but invisitorp. Further, just because you want to invisitorp does not mean that the opposition doesn't have a vote. They are absolutely dependent on the enemy team playing on your terms to be effective. Don't get me wrong, I respect the hell out of the Japanese DDs, but I don't fear them the way I do the American or Soviet ones. I look at the splash screen, count how many IJN DDs I see, and that's me counting 'targets to kill', as opposed to, say a Soviet one which is "Thing I need to kill really damned quickly if I want to survive."   US vessels, and to a point Soviet ones provide a lot more flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations.

The_Chieftain:   Congrats. Sometimes one need to look a little more than 'what is it like right now?' There's a reason I didn't bail to AW like some of the other guys from the NA office, I saw greater long-term potential despite the issues (then) currently ongoing. Plus there's a little loyalty to the company which gave me this pretty cool new direction in life.

The_Chieftain:   I didn't see much wrong with it, actually. I could be jealous and say that some articles recently have indicated that he's the only military historian we have, but that's just journalistic editing. Maybe if we do a Battle of the Bulge one or some such, we can even the balance a bit for the American side of the house :)
