awhile ago from a person in Minsk through a friend helping me a bit
here and there on here. When bringing up the XM60 and M60A1 for the
2nd tree... I got this as their basically their response...
1. What do you call the E-50M and Leopard 1 lines?
-.- 2. Obviously I am concerned now and well I
guess if they want to use the M60A1 as the 2nd tree and they stand
by this thinking (though where do we go if we can't add newer tanks
cause of a past screw up!) along with not wanting to change
tiers at all...Couldn't they just update the current
M48A1 to the M48A2©? I mean with the new M48A2/T54E2/T123E6
model they did model the new hull in and engine stats would be
there to copy over. Atleast in production dates, this would be
closer to the M60A1 and not the initial M48A1 produced in 1953 that
Minsk just stuck the 105mm M68 in. The_Chieftain: CK, I don't want to stifle your creativity, but I really
think you're spinning your wheels here. I know the lads at Minsk
have considered a number of options, from M60A1 as top of another
branch through down-tiering half the US line, and putting M60A1 at
the top of the current branch, to leaving things as they are. I was
involved in this discussion with them last year. I don't know
what route they are going to take, but I know that such proposals
have crossed their desks. I also know that they aren't devoting
many brain processor cycles to this, because they have more
pressing things to think about.
