can at least give PC WoT a "Thunderdome Mode" where we can put our
own Mutants to the test against bots or the occasional player.
Also, Hollywood magazine! If I had money, would get. And NOW.The_Chieftain: That was some $400 of ammunition. But the question is, did
he hit what he was aiming at? Tried to fire up AW today,
after leaving the download run on its own. Something happened, and
I'm back to square 1 of loading all 19Gb again. Maybe by next
week.... We had an internal WoWS tournament. More or less
random teams, Tier V. Due to the fact that a bunch of people had no
Tier Vs, there was much use of premium ships. Five a side. I went
up against Warhawk's team. (Neither of us were team captains.)
Fault Line with two cap zones, first to 800 points wins.
Game 1: 3x Murmansk, 1xZuiho, 1x Gremyashchiy on their side
(Warhawk in a Murmansk). We went with 1x Murmansk, 1x Omaha B, 1x
Zuihu, 1x Nicholas, 1x New York. (I took the New York).
Game 1. We started south. Grem went East, to Cap B, our
Nicholas went West to Cap A, together with the rest of the squad
trailing behind. Discovery of a swarm of Murmansks brings our DD
hard about, under cover of smoke, but the opposition's aircraft
keep it lit. (Our DD driver didn't know he could turn off AA).
We're down one already. Warhawk's Murmansk got a little too exposed
to me, one salvo dropped him down to about 15% before he hid behind
an island with the rest of his group. As my side had split up a
bit, the opposition decided to gang up and charge forth.
Unfortunately, in the charging forth, two of their cruisers
collided, leaving one out on his own. The forthcoming scrap, with a
little help from the aircraft carriers, left only the DD
coming West capturing A after already taking B. Their Murmansks
melted our cruisers, while I was melting Murmansks as fast I could
reload my five gun turrets. The opponent's carrier fell to a
combination of New York and Murmansk fire. A hard turn brought the
turrets to bear, a good salvo knocked off over half the DD's
health, but sadly, he just nicked me, leaving the DD to try to live
against the CV while the points ticked closer to 800. Without time
to properly aim, our carrier drops crossing salvos on the DD,
sadly, they collided prior to arming distance, about a half-second
before the game ended. An extremely close fought fight. Game
2. We also started South. Opposition took the same team. I decided
that pondering about at about 16kts given how many torpedoes were
flying around might not have been the best idea. I went Kongo.
Otherwise, generally the same. This turned into a general
smorgasborg in the middle. by the time the spray settled, we had
lost both our cruisers, the opposition lost one. Our destroyer ran
North with the Grem in hot pursuit. The two Murmansks started
melting me. Our CV took out about half their CV's health. Likely an
error, should have focused on the CLs. With only four turrets, I
wasn't putting out the death I needed, and melted under a barrage
of HE fire. Our Nicholas took a torp hit somehow, but returned the
favour on the Grem. A brief gun battle resulted, with both
ships sinking each other. (Not by fire, it was just the last salvo
was enough to knock out the hitpoints). Our Zuihu didn't last much
longer after that. A definite drubbing. That was it.
Warhawk's crowd continued onto the next round. There is an
inter-office tournamet resulting.
