  I haven't found anything to verify that the 72nd was even in the area, although it was integral to 2nd ID at the time (they may have been supporting the Marines, but it's kinda sketchy).
So were they really at Chipyong-ni and farmed-out in platoons as unsung heroes, or were they off supporting the Marines?   Edit: Trying to read this at the moment ... http://cdm16635.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/ref/collection/p16635coll14/id/55976 ... very slow loading at this location ...
