Myths of American Armor

The_Chieftain: I've just encountered an account in "The Infantry's Armor" of a group of M3 Stuarts which killed a Tiger by basically pumelling it to death. There was another account where they knocked out MkIVs by shooting into the engine deck because they had a height advantage in the Italian hills. Knocking out a tank doesn't usually require frontal penetration, but just degrading the tank's ability to fight to the extent that the crew is no longer willing to try to fight it.
