depression. (Which is handy, since in such a case the breech would
be way high and difficult to load). In elevation, it locks the gun
in position. One chap reminded me of a practice we used to do on
the ready line at the gun range, max-elevate the gun and scan for
targets without aiming at them. We did the same thing in Iraq, to
scan crowds without looking too threatening.
